Honorary Membership - 'Well Deserved'

BECAUSE of unforeseen circumstances – and the fact that we are all getting older – the club recently found itself without a monthly magazine. The disappearance of this well-read monthly brought our webmaster, Stephen Canham, to the fore.

Solely through his skills over the past few months, club members and Rotarians everywhere have continued to keep up-to-date with our activities and fund-raising achievements. So it seemed appropriate that Stephen’s efforts on the club’s behalf should be recognised.

Following a short talk on the website at the club’s weekly meeting on 10th September, President Derek Firmin inducted Stephen as an Honorary Member of the club - "in recognition of his work in setting up the club’s website and for his continuing attention to its revision and maintenance."

Earlier in the month at a special meeting the club had unanimously approved this action, and Stephen was given a warm welcome by members, who look forward to the time when he can juggle his business commitments to allow him to take full membership. His classification is "Systems Analyst".

Well done, Stephen. We look forward to a long and happy association with Ipswich Orwell.
